This oft-forgotten episode of the Revolutionary War resulted in hundreds of skirmishes and ambushes in Tennessee. Fought on J , between settlers and Cherokee warriors, the Battle of Long Island Flats (modern-day Kingsport) was the largest battle of the Revolutionary War within the boundaries of Tennessee. The Harpe brothers would later relocate to Powell's Valley, around Knoxville, Tennessee, where they stole food and supplies from local pioneers.
